Performing Arts Fort Worth Presents THE WONDER BREAD YEARS, 7/25-29

Performing Arts Fort Worth invites you to take a stroll down Baby Boomer Lane with the "humorous and heartwarming" show The Wonder Bread Years, running July 25-29, 2012, at Bass Performance Hall’s McDavid Studio, 301 E. 5th St. Tickets are $22-$38.50 and are on sale NOW!

Part of Performing Arts Fort Worth’s Broadway Off Bass at McDavid series, The Wonder Bread Years is an interactive, one-man Boomer generation homage created and hosted by stand-up comedian and Seinfeld writer Pat Hazell.

Named by Showtime as one of the five funniest people in America, Hazell has crafted a critically acclaimed show that is one part theater, one part stand-up routine. During the performance, Hazell takes his audience back to a simpler time when Kool Aid stands were big business, green army men ruled and the only thing you had to watch out for was falling Lawn Jarts.

Variety says the show, “quite successfully offers a glimpse back at a mythical period in American life.”

Pat Hazell is one of the original writers for NBC’s massively popular sitcom, Seinfeld; a Tonight Show veteran; an acclaimed playwright; and a contributing commentator to National Public Radio. He is recognized for his genuinely funny Americana humor and his salute to pop culture.

As a playwright, Pat’s first endeavor was Bunk Bed Brothers, which he co-wrote with Matt Goldman. The play was critically acclaimed and later optioned by Columbia Pictures, with screenwriting chores going to Hazell and Goldman. Bunk Bed Brothers then gained attention from the television industry and was filmed as the sitcom American Pie for NBC Studios.

The Wonder Bread Years, Hazell’s latest project, is a celebration of the baby boomer generation, recalling the joys of Clackers, Lawn Jarts and riding in the way back of the country squire wagon. This hilarious show-and-tell aired on PBS, which referred to Hazell as, “America's foremost pop culture anthropologist.”

Along with Seinfeld, Hazell wrote for the TV shows Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, My Life In 3D, Showtime’s Aspen Comedy Special and Grounded For Life.

City Life magazine says Hazell, “…may just be the funniest guy in comedy and theater today.”
