Rover Dramawerks is pleased to offer a spring break camp, late spring classes for children and adults, and summer camps in Plano! Signups for the spring break camp are underway, and all others begin on Saturday, March 5 through Plano Leisure (http://parks.planotx.org/econnect/start/start.asp?SCheck=658559274&SDT=40604.0300670139). Rover Dramawerks: Cox Building Classes and Camps - Spring

BREAK A LEG! SPRING BREAK DRAMA CAMP (6-12 YRS) - $185
March 14-18, 2011, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Campers learn the fundamentals of theatrical performance, including creating a character, vocal performance, movement, improvisation, and more! (Campers will need ability to read in order to learn simple lines) This camp provides a solid theatrical introduction and also challenges experienced actors. Each class member performs in a short play that is rehearsed during the week and presented to family and friends at the end of the final class! Each student should bring a sack lunch, drinks, and snacks each day. Student may also need to provide his/her own simple costume for the play.

AFTER SCHOOL DRAMA (6-12 yrs) - $165
March 22 - May 10, 2011, Tuesdays, 3:30 - 5:00 p.m.
Have you always wanted to be in a play but didn't know where to start? Rover Dramawerks' eight-week class concentrates on all the basic aspects of theater. You will have the opportunity to build your acting skills by exploring projection, character development and script work. You can discover how different techniques like improvisation, vocal and movement exercises, memorization methods and more, can sharpen impulse, imagination and teamwork! Each class member will perform a speaking role in a short play that will be presented for an audience of family and friends at the end of the final class! Student may need to provide his/her own simple costume for the play.

ACTING FOR ADULTS (ages 18 and up) - $150
March 29 - May 3, 2011, Tuesdays, 7:30 - 9:30 p.m.
Acting for Adults will take you through the essential basics of developing a character through the use of improvisation, script analysis, and exploration. In this six-week course, you will learn a step-by-step method of developing and performing a monologue and/or two-person scene. On the final day of class, you will showcase your scenes with a performance in front of a small, invited audience. Presented by Rover Dramawerks.

Rover Dramawerks builds on what was learned in the popular "Break a Leg! Drama Camp"! Class will be split into small groups to continue developing their performance skills in a more concentrated learning environment. Each group will develop and rehearse their own short play that is rehearsed during the week and presented to family and friends at the end of the final class, along with the other groups' plays! Each student should bring a sack lunch, drinks, and snacks each day. Student may also need to provide his/her own simple costume. PREREQUISITE: Student MUST have taken Rover Dramawerks' "Break a Leg! Drama Camp" in 2009, 2010, or 2011 to enroll in this camp!

IMPROV, CHARACTERS & PERFORMANCE (ages 10-15) - $185
June 27 - July 1, 2011, 8:30-4:30 p.m. (in the Donor's Lounge at the Courtyard Theater)
Rover Dramawerks offers a class made just for you and your acting skill level! Learn all about improvisation (improv) and characterization and fine tune your performance skills - no matter where you are in your experience! From first time auditioners to seasoned performers, this class is for you if you want to have fun and learn new skills and improve on the ones you already have. Final performance will showcase a variety of monologues and scenes by the students. Each student should bring a sack lunch, drinks, and snacks each day. Student may also need to provide his/her own simple costume for the final performance.

Come play with us! Whether you're outgoing, shy, or somewhere in between, let Rover Dramawerks help you learn the basics of drama, improvisation (improv), storytelling, and creative expression. This class is great for helping develop real-life skills such as quick thinking, listening, public speaking, problem solving and teamwork. Each class member performs in a short play that is developed and rehearsed during the week and presented to family and friends at the end of the final class! Each student should bring a sack lunch, drinks, and snacks each day. Student may also need to provide his/her own simple costume for the play.

SILLY FACES! (STAGE MAKEUP AND MASKS) (ages 6-15) - $75

Join Rover Dramawerks for a creative adventure into the art of theatrical make-up and mask design. You will learn how to create characters using theatrical make-up skills and techniques such as scars, old age, shadow and highlights, animals, and more! Learn about mask making and some of the fascinating theatrical history involving masks. Take your mask home with you after the final class (after we get a picture of you in it, that is!)! Each student should bring a sack lunch, drinks, and snacks each day.

Let's put on a musical! In Rover Dramawerks' exciting new Musical Theatre Camp, you will learn the fundamental basics of musical theatre - from acting skills and learning choreography (dance) to the vocal skills required in song interpretation for musical theatre. The two-week course will focus on developing and rehearsing a musical from start to finish, with the production presented to an audience of family and friends on the last day of the class! Students should have a basic understanding of music and be able to sing. Each student should bring a sack lunch, drinks, and snacks each day. Student may also need to provide his/her own simple costume for the play.
